two pairs of taos sandals? I can't find shoes that I can walk in for miles due to extreme high arch and metatarsal issues. These are "rocker" types of shoes that are SO comfortable. They are not flip flops. I know my toes will be exposed but ???? Rain???
Where are you going?
Unless you're going to Southern Europe, I wouldn't even think about taking open-toed sandals, much less two pair. If you must, take one pair and a pair of regular shoes. Why not get orthopedist or podiatrist prescribed inlays made to order? Even if it doesn't rain, it could be very chilly.
Here's the way the weather has gone so far from December onwards... abnormally cold with heavy snow... which was all gone by mid January, when temperatures were rarely below freezing during the day... early March, it was warm and I was wearing shorts by the end of the month... and since June, it has barely even risen above 80 degrees, with highs being below 70 as often as above. And rain. Lots of rain. I'm in Oslo right now, and I was wearing a sweater and jacket last night. So basically, with the unpredictability of the weather this year, its anyone's guess what will be appropriate a month from now.
Last year I was wearing sandals comfortably in Austria right up to about September 25th (then it got quite cold and I switched to my hiking shoes). Its hard to predict. I'd definitely bring along one pair of proper shoes if I were you.
Clark's Wave-run has a rocker type sole and is more of a loafer. Mine are very comfortable. There's also a lace-up style. Zappos has them.
Maybe. Last October I was in Belgium and it was so hot. All my clothes were too heavy. I wear Keenes mostly and find them comfortable and work well even in the rain.
I'm starting in London then Rome, Florence Venice, and ending in Paris in late September and first week in October will be Lake Como and Cinque Terre. thanks for the replies. I'm going to look into Clarks wave-Run.

Have you ever tried Merrils? I just got back from Lake Garda area- even in August we had some days that were very wet. And as previously mentioned, the weather has been very unpredictable this year. There was flooding 2 days ago here on the South coast of the UK.
October can be warm in the UK, but I wouldn't bank on it!
Geez, I was freezing and wet in AUGUST in London. We also had rain in the CT in September. I would plan to bring a real pair of shoes in addition to your sandals. I like Merrell's too.
