Europe - Itinerary

I want to travel to the following places during the month of October and have accordingly prepared the following Itinerary. I have a few questions.

9.10.2015 Sofia - Ljubljana Night Train
10.10.2015 Ljubjana - Bled Morning Bus
11.10.2015 Bled Free Day
12.10.2015 Bled -Ljubljana Bus
12.10.2015 Ljubljana Free Day
13.10.2015 Ljubljana-Innsbruck Train
13.10.2015 Innsbruck Free Day
14.10.2015 Innsbruck - Vienna

15.10.2015 Vienna Free Day
16.10.2015 Vienna - Bratisalva

17.10.2015 Bratisalva Free Day
18.10.2015 Bratisalva - Budapest

19.10.2015 Budapest Free Day
20.10.2015 Budapest - Prague

21.10.2015 Prague Free Day
22.10.2015 Prague Free Day
23.10.2015 Prague - Amsterdam Flight
24.10.2015 Amsterdam Free Day

Should I go to Innsbruck via Ljubljana or via Vienna. Is there a train from Ljubljana to Innsbruck?
How do I visit to Tatras Mountains from Bratisalva?
Is there trains available from Bratisalva - Budapest and also from Budapest to Prague?
Please feel free to tweak / provide your inputs on the Itinerary

In my opinion, you have planned too many destinations for the amount of time you have. If I counted correctly, 9 of your 14 days include some amount of travel. Even when places are close to each other, you need to check out of lodgings and get to the bus/train/airport, then check in at the other end. Eats up a lot of time. Even if the journey itself is only an hour or two, you'll have shot half a day. Have you actually sketched out what you want to do in each place? Having recently returned from a trip that included Vienna for a week, I can assure you that the 7 days we were there were barely sufficient for all the things we wanted to see and do. We're actually planning a return of 3 - 4 days next year. I advise paring this down.

You don't have "free days" in each city. In most cases you have half-days or less. Too many destinations in too little time. All you will remember is bus and train stations. If it were me, I would skip Bratislava. When would you have time to go to the mountains, anyway? I would also skip Innsbruck. Both Vienna and Budapest deserve/require more time.

I sort of enjoy a quick side trip in the middle of a schedule. We have done two nigh visits to Moscow and Jerusalem for instance, but to do two solid weeks of what amounts to one night stands, I cant help. The best I can do is if you tell me your arrival and departure dates and times in Budapest I will try and give you some ideas to maximize your enjoyment there.

I agree with skipping Innsbruck and Bratislava to get more time in key destinations. FYI, a train from Bratislava to the base of the Tatra mountains at Poprad takes 4 hours, then you would connect to a bus to some higher elevations. How to Look Up Train Schedules and Routes Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it.

Prague - Vienna - Bratislava - Budapest - Ljubljana - Salzburg - Innsbruck would appear an easier routing for direct trains. I am not sure about Sofia. The trip would be so much easier without it, as well as Amsterdam at the end. Where is your origin point ??

You really should get a good European map and check out where all these cities are. The cities in your itinerary are not in a straight line, and they don't complement each other.
There are major mountains north and east of Ljubljana blocking it from Budapest. And Sofia is in Bulgaria, just north of Turkey and way off the beaten path.
Our last trip was to Budapest--Bratislava--Vienna--Prague and it was a great 2 week route. You could go from Prague to Salzburg through Cesky Krumlov by a regional shuttle bus. From Salzburg to Innsbruck should be easy by train.
You can get from Innsbruck to Amsterdam on Transavia, a budget air carrier.
That's the best I can do for you.
