I am travelling from London to Paris on Friday 25 July and have not bought my Eurail ticket yet. The website only talks about postal deliveries. Is this the only way or can I pick it up at a train station or have it emailed to me as I will need it on Sunday 27 July if not before?
Seems to me that the company selling the pass would be best placed to answer that question. They make such a profit on these passes, it is the least they could do.
I am not sure what you are trying to buy. Eurail is not a train ticket. The train between London and Paris is the Eurostar. At this late date I would just buy the ticket at the station since all the discount tickets will be gone. If on the other hand you are trying to buy a rail pass from Eurail then skip that also. The train pass is not good on the Eurostar. Still going to have to pay full fare. Exactly what are you trying to purchase?
Thanks Bruce. I'm wanting to buy the Eurail 'Select Pass' that lets you travel on European trains through 4 adjoining countries. The website only talks of delivering the tickets to physical addresses but it is too late to have mine delivered that way.
(I have already bought the Eurostar ticket to Paris.)
Rail passes are all printed on special paper and can only be physically delivered to you. They cannot be pre-ordered for pick up. Rail Europe (not through our link) and Eurail.com both offer delivery to a European address for a price (about $65). Select passes are also sold at Paris Gare du Nord, where you arrive by Eurostar, again for a higher price since these aren't used by Europeans. Don't buy it unless you have also been able to book a seat reservation for any French TGV you need, either through Rail Europe, or at the station upon arrival there (and not less than 3 days ahead of the travel date).
On yesterday's response, I suggested flying the longer distances and again recommend that you use www.skyscanner.com for that.
