We bought Eurail Passes online on March 20. By April 14 we had received no tickets on our phone. Emails were ignored. So on April 15 we notified the credit card company to contest payment. That day (!) the tickets showed on the phone. We immediately notified the credit card company. NOW, the credit card company says they are waiting to hear from Eurail and Eurail says they are waiting to hear from the credit card company. We leave in two days. Should we re-cancel and try to reorder or go with point to point tickets (more expensive)?.?
Oh my! This is clearly a very frustrating experience for you. It would help to know where you are traveling. Is it Italy where the cost of point to point won't be significant or is it in a more expensive location?
Either way, at this point, I would go with whatever the choice is that will reduce the stress this is causing and allow you to go forward with your trip.
Hi,
Hopefully, this problem with the Pass and payment, etc worked out for you. You definitely do not need additional stress due to the Pass.
Whenever I bought the Eurail Pass, (10 days/2 months) I always got it in paper form, much rather prefer that, never had to pay for shipping, except once.
It always arrived 2-3 weeks here after my placing the order on-line, paying by Visa on-line. I bought Pass insurance only once, totally not worth it, since the Pass will not be lost, much less stolen...no chance of that.
I use point to point tickets too, just depends on the ride.
Was there a 'happy' resolution to this mess?
