Eurail Pass

We are traveling this April/May from Amsterdam to cities in Germany, Austria and Czech Republic. We purchased a Eurail Pass to cover each day of travel. Years ago, we used it to jump on and off trains without making reservations. I'm confused as to whether we need to make reservations for each trip? Or possibly some? Any clarity would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

generally not required in those countries, but if your travel includes any trips on Eurostar Red in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany, you need an (expensive) reservation on those.

So do we need a ticket for the trip? Or just show them our pass after we get on the train?

With an Eurail pass, just show your pass. I have used one for the last 3 excursions to Europe and paid to reserve seats (First class) Peace of mind and because I usually did it at a major train station, was able to choose good seats. The only time I didn't reserve was from Munich to Prague and it was bedlam. Some first class journeys included snack boxes.
