Going to Austria (Salzburg, Hallstatt, Innsbruck), Bavaria (Germany), Cologne (Germany), and Dolomites (Italy). Plan to buy a Eurail Global Pass. I'm 64 so I can get a 5 day Eurail Glabal flexipass for the senior rate from Rick Steves? I do want the paper version as I'm confused about the rail APP. If I buy point to point tickets I don't seem to be able to get a senior rate until next year when I turn 65. Departure date for Salzburg is Sept 7th. Would this be the right pass for me and will Rick Steves send me the paper version? Thank you in advance for advice.
I don’t believe RS Europe is a direct seller of Eurail passes. If you go through their site, you will be linked to another company Rail Europe.
You don’t have a great deal of lead time left. One website that can have useful information about rail passes is man in seat 61.
Also, be aware that because of the flights disaster in Europe, a lot more people are using the trains and on popular reservation only trains you may struggle to get a reservation if you have not already done so.
yes don't ask Rick, look to the Man 61. He also recommends agencies that can help with tickets and travel if that helps.
