First off - you are not being scammed - you have a logistics problem. The previous posters have provided you with good suggestions. BTW, you can always go to an Internet cafe with a working printer if you have to print anything (for a small fee).

I'm afraid I don't understand your problem, nor how Eurail is "scamming" you... "Eurail.com is ruining my vacation because i cant make a reservation to print my pass where i am or at the station." You don't print a railpass. I'm confused... Well, I'll just stop here for now. Maybe you can give us some clarification, or is it just me that's confused?!? I'd really like to help, but I really don't understand the problem. ...and just to clarify, it's not a EurAide office, but a Eurail Aid office - not the same thing. EurAide does Eurail Aid work for them in Berlin and Munich, besides other services.

Hello to everyone that has been helping me I really appreciate it, and I'm sorry for so much confusion, my problem basically is (i'm young and dumb i guess im only 21 lol just turned) but I was told by raileurope.com and from what i read that I cannot print the train tickets nor can I print them at the station, and i guess they're not scamming me the lady over the phone explained it to me, it's the rail companies that don't give acces to their tickets for us to print them, but thats a problem. so I need to book my tickets asap, im going to Prague tomorrow like I said, but my bus arrives @ 9:30pm and i only booked a hotl for 2 nights, so i don't know if i;ll be able to book my ticket to budapest for friday night (to leave on friday 29) I must book all my tickets so that i can find nice hotels. I just want to make the most out of my trip, I have been staying in Poland for 5 days now, and have been tring to leave 2 days ago but couldnt because first no one spoke english and second there were no trains, finally i got lucky with the bus. but I dont want to be booking buses, then what was the point of spending all that money on the eurail pass if im barely going to use it? Thanks again guys!! Thanks to all that helped me i really appreciate it.

Ken, a Eurail Aide office is not the same thing as a Euraide office. A Eurail Aide office is a service of Eurail and they are located in major train stations all over Europe (at least in countries served by Eurail). Last I checked, Euraide, a Florida company, had offices only in Berlin and Munich Hauptbahnhoefe. And RailEurope is not Eurail or Euraide. Eurail passes are only available to people who reside outside Europe. RailEurope mails them. Their website specifically says that "print at home" is not available for a railpass, they can only be mailed (and probably not to Europe). If you bought the pass 2 months ago and you have only been in Europe 2 weeks, wasn't it mail to you before you left.

Oscar, Thanks for the clarification. I have a few more thoughts. You won't necessarily need reservations for all the trains you'll be using. I'd suggest using the bahn.de website I mentioned in my earlier reply. If you click the arrow on the left side to "expand" the information, you'll see information such as "Please Reserve, Reservation Optional", etc. One VERY important point to mention regarding travel in Italy. Use the Trenitalia web site to plan your journeys there, and BE SURE to note the number of the train you'll be using (ie: Treno 9546). You can "expand" the details there by clicking the small circle on the right side and then scrolling down. Be sure to note whether reservations are compulsory and be sure to board the correct train! Even when travelling with a Railpass, if you're caught without a valid reservation for the train you're riding on, you'll be fined on the spot and it won't be cheap! If you could list all the rail trips you'll be making, the group here may be able to offer some further suggestions. If I could make a helpful suggestion for "future reference". If you decide to take another trip to Europe, be sure to come to the HelpLine well in advance to make sure everything is well planned. Good luck!

There is a Eurail Aid office at the Praha Liben (Prague Liben station). It's open daily: 6:00 am - 8:50 pm. Activate your pass when you get to Prague and buy as many seat reservations as you can for trains that require them. You should at least be able to buy reservations there for travel within the Czech Republic and for travel from the Czech Republic to a neighboring country. If necessary, buy reservations for travel in other countries as soon as you arrive in each one.

While not as quick, keep in mind that there are trains going nearly everywhere that do not require reservations and where your pass is all you need. They are harder to come by nowadays, and they are usually the slower Regional trains, but they get you there. This would certainly be the case for Italy, in Germany most of the trains, including the intercity trains do not require reservations, and it is much the same in the other countries.

Oscar, I'm not completely clear on what the problem is, but I have a few thoughts that may help. As Tim suggested, try the EurAide office first. They have English-speaking staff, and I've always found them to be really helpful. Once your Railpass is activated, it should be relatively easy to make reservations at local rail stations a day or two before you'll be travelling. A method I often use is to buy reservations for my outgoing journey when I arrive in each city, which is a few days before I'll be travelling. One other suggestion is to use the websites for the rail networks in each country to purchase reservations, rather than using Eurail.com. For example: > France: www.sncf.com (Use SNCF BOUTIQUES in larger cities like Paris - they're really helpful!) > Italy: www.trenitalia.com > Austria: www.oebb.at/en/ > Spain: www.renfe.com/EN > Germany: www.bahn.de > Portugal: www.cp.pt/cp/displayPage.do?vgnextoid=87cbd5abe2a74010VgnVCM1000007b01a8c0RCRD&lang=en Those websites should all have an English language tab. One point to note is that rail travel in Greece is somewhat "limited". A number of rail services have been discontinued as a cost cutting measure. Depending on where you're going, you may find travel by Bus to be a better option. Congratulations on your honeymoon! Good luck!

Still clear as mud, but I'm trying ;-) IF you have a railpass, you don't need train tickets. You might need train reservations, depending on which train you've chosen. For that, just present your railpass at the ticket counter and ask for a train reservation. If you need night train reservations, they might be sold out already - they may sell out well ahead of time. Still confused...

It's always interesting to read how often the word "scam" appears in posts when things do not go according to expectations and then how often it becomes evident the no scam took place.

Ah, this is where doing research before the trip comes in... Like Eileen said though, your dilemma still seems a little confusing. One, why do you need to print your rail pass? I was under the impression that you are meant to receive it in the mail before you depart on your trip. Similarly, why do you need to print tickets? The only things you need "tickets" for are either night trains or high-speed trains that require reservations. As someone mentioned before, most trains do not require reservations, so presumably, you can just get on and get off wherever, whenever you want, if you have your pass in hand. Since you have a Global Pass and not a limited-day "flexi pass", you don't even need to bother recording which trains you take. If a reservation is required, you can purchase one inexpensively, at the train station. I feel like at least the larger train stations should always have someone who speaks at least enough English to sell you a reservation. Perhaps while you are online, you can look up how to say "I need a train reservation" in Hungarian, German, French, etc etc.

Hmmm...I guess re-reading the thread, my first question is: Do you have a physical pass in hand for both you and your wife, either separate passes or a saver pass? If not, you have a bigger problem than reservations. If you do, then there really is little point in trying to lay out reservations for the next couple months, do them a little at a time, if no reservations are needed or possible, then you need no more ticket than your pass.
