Technically, if you have a US or Canadian passport you have had a visa waiver for years.
EES, where you will get your photo taken and fingerprinted when entering Europe should start in November. This is to expedite entering and exiting in the future.
Sometime next year, ETIAS will begin where you will have to pre-register for a visit to the EU.
