No they haven’t mentioned it again. The CNN article you linked to was published on June 24. An on that same day a post was opened on this forum that linked to the exact same article and complained about the annoying “visa” the EU is asking Americans to obtain

phred, thanks for posting. I am sure that there are others who missed the first post and, honestly, I like the way you presented the article without a lot of commentary or judgement.
The CNN article specifies the cost for those 18-70. Does that mean that those over 70 go through a different procedure?
The article literally says the following about those > 70 and <18;
“The cost: €7 ($7.35) for those aged between 18 and 70. It's not yet clear if others will have a reduced rate or will be able to apply for free”
Apply early before the price goes up.
