eSIM or Physical Card For 30 Days With Data and Calling

Was all set to purchase a 30 day Airalo eSim for my trip to Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Czech Republic. But then I discovered that no phone service is included.

Is it easy to purchase a physical SIM card upon arrival in the Netherlands, which will supply both data and phone service in multiple countries over 30 days?

I don't think I would make calls unless it was an emergency (rental car agency, travel insurance, credit card company) but I still would like the option, just in case. Unfortunately, none of the previously listed companies have a Whatsapp number.

FWIW, I do have a Google Voice, number but I have no idea how easy it is to set it up. Was told I need to add credit before leaving the states. And no idea if I can make calls using Wifi calling, along with whatever data plan I end up with.

Orange has an eSIM that has voice/text ( France phone number) and data for 30 days that has EU roaming. I have used Orange on quite a few trips to Europe. You can order the eSIM with delivery via email or their app. The eSIM comes with a limited number of minutes for international calling.

If you are planning on using local WiFi recommend installing a VPN on devices to insure security. Also setup WhatsApp on your phone and have family and friends do the same as to not incur long distance calling fees. I use WiFi calling in Europe back to the US without any problem when unable to use WhatsApp.

Check out esimdb.com. The site doesn't sell plans itself, but rather provides information on vendors that do. You can filter for plans that offer calling and texting as well as data.

Found an eSIM on Orange, going to give them a try!
