England Travel DVD New Season

First I would like to say I am a huge Rick Steve's fan and have watched his dvds for 25 years over and over. I just find it really relaxing to watch.

For the new series West England, he visited several of the places that have been visited before; I think its cool that he met with the same people, but the content was exactly the same. I know Rick spends a lot of time producing the shows, I was just surprised that he would go with the same content.

The new travel season is excellent and will enjoy it for years to come. Keep on traveling!

Hi, Larry. I can understand your feeling that the show wasn't really "new." Part of Rick's filming plan is to refresh and update content that may feel stale, as well as to make all the shows available in the latest high-definition format. (And if he was wearing his old eyeglasses, which the TV producer hates, that producer will also love the refresh idea.) You're right, it is a lot of work and new viewers benefit more than long-term viewers like yourself. Over the past few years, I've often heard Rick being excited to improve some facet of an old show (technical or otherwise) and about widening coverage by giving an area two shows instead of only one. It's less often about exploring new frontiers, although this year, we did get new territory covered in Romania and northern Germany.
