were traveling to italy this july and i was wondering if someone could recommed travel medical insurance that they were happy with? I hope if someone has experienced using coverage at a facility it wasn't life threating but i would greatly appreciate any information that anyone could provide, so we could avoid pitfalls that are associated with the medical profession overseas. thank you

Who is your group health insurance carrier?? Have you checked into their coverage for you while out of the US?

I bought American Express coverage for medical expenses, shipping you home dead or alive. Did not have to use it, so can only surmise with their name it would work. Paid for it by the month and cancelled when I returned. Anyone with any kind of Amex card can purchase it. Three years ago it was approx. $13/month. I purchased it about three weeks before leaving, to cover existing conditions.

My heath insurance covers me anywhere in the world. You should check with yours.
