They herded some of us toward the EES gates, others to the passport officers line. Put my passport in machine and it popped back out with the message see passport officer. An agent directed me to the front of the line and I went thru regular passport check. Same thing happened with my husband. Others were going thru EES machines with no problems. Obviously, the system still has kinks in it.
Thanks. Were you connecting in AMS or exiting there?
I heard there is a separate line for passport control for those that are connecting.
We were connecting from Edinburgh to Hamburg, following yellow Connection signs. So it wasn’t a separate line but a separate area of gates.
We came through Frankfurt last week and the passport line was so long they stopped processing EES registration. Still missed the connecting flight.
Oh, I’m sorry, SamA. That was my fear because we only had 1 hr. 15 minutes and our friends had come thru Amsterdam the day before and said they had closed the EES gates but it still took an hour to get thru passport control….this is just the beginning of summer!
Yes. I was connecting thru AMS to the US last week and Delta had only given me 65 minutes for the connection (my fault for not noticing when I booked the flight). I was concerned. I made it, but with no time for toilet, water, or food.
