EES exiting from Frankfurt yesterday

It was completely different experience from entering in September, which was more about FRA itself than EES…….see my reply in one of the other EES topics.

Arrived from Italy at 08:00, with only two hours to get the next flight.
Short walk to some EES pre registration kiosks.
It took my passport info but didn’t want photo or fingerprints.
Short walk to Border Control….prints, photo and stamp of passport.
No security as it was done in Italy.
Had a just over an hour left to have breakfast in the lounge.
Very relieved and no panic about missing my flight.

I was on Air Canada, but discovered I could use the Lufthansa lounge directly above my gate, instead of walking quite a long way back to the AC Maple Leaf Lounge.
Much more convenient.
I’ll remember that next time I’m on a Star Alliance flight.

Well, it worked as it should (except for one minor detail). The kiosk basically recognized "this person is in our system" and had you proceed. The only minor detail that I don't get is that Germany seems to be insisting on stamping passports, or at least sometimes, in some places, this is silly and kind of defeats the whole idea of EES. Most places, you simply walk up to the e-gate, scan your passport, look at the camera, and on your way.

Yes, they stamped my passport both ways, and did the prints and photos.
So EES is still under the “let’s practice till we get it down pat Lscenario.

In Frankfurt on 9/25, I only had to scan my passport and take a picture. Line was 1 hour long before my passport was stamped. Again exiting from Frankfurt, on 10/7, I had my passport scanned and my picture taken, and they asked for fingerprints of my right hand. Line was 30 minutes long to have my passport stamped.
