Beyond a certain threshold called the Hubble horizon, galaxies recede faster than light, meaning the light they emit today will never reach us. Now’s that something I want to see! But in the meantime, the eclipse is pretty nice too. Ah, I wish I were in Leon today! (I’ll be there in a few months.)

Since I am home in Texas, I will be watching The Eclipse on line.
I had a pair of eclipse goggles left over from 2024 and was able to see this one from northern Virginia at about 2 pm; just a tiny sliver out of the sun, about 3 percent, which of course is nothing even remotely close to having any visible darkening effect. But it was fun to be able to see that little bit with the goggles. I was fortunate enough to have seen totality with the US ones in 2017 and 2024, in Kansas City area and Indianapolis respectively, which is sufficient for me in this lifetime. Seeing the northern lights sometime is still on my astronomical bucket list, but I am admittedly deterred by having to go somewhere dark and cold and even then having no guarantee of seeing them.
I watched it through different media outlets on line. It was awesome but I would have loved to have been somewhere where I could have seen it in person.
We had about 90% coverage here. To be honest, other than it getting slightly darker it was hard to notice much was going on unless you had the glasses (which were in very short supply here). Tho I wasn't able to get a pair, a kind person in our local park let me try theirs and it was a pretty amazing sight. The Royal Greenwich Observatory had a good live feed from one of their telescopes yesterday.

I did see some amazing views on line, I think in Spain. There was a burst of magnificence.
And on Nightline yesterday, there was a short segment of persons watching The Eclipse from The Blue Lagoon in Reykjavik. Doesn't that sound incredibly awesome?
Nightline is a very popular late night TV show.
Will be in London come October.
