thought I would let folk know about this fairly new service from EasyJet.
I use them several times a year mainly from Edinburgh to Prague but last month I did a trip from Edinburg to Dubrovnik and went hand luggage only. Easyjet offer Hands Free which means for a small fee £4 from Edinburgh and 40Kuna from Dubrovnik. You hand your hand luggage into the check in desk and pay the fee (you may have to go to a separate counter to pay as I had to do in Dubrovnik) This allows you to also carry a small bag that must be able to fit under your seat and also a pass for priority boarding after the first phase. It also allows you to put any liquids in your Hands Free bag, veru suefull for me as I was taking a couple of beers and a bottle of wine back from Dubrovnik, also saves the hassle of having to bag up toiletries etc for security.
You bags are also given priority when off loaded and are some of the first on the baggage carousel, mine was no8 going out and No10 coming back, yes I counted.
great service for the price and one I will use again.

So they stow the bag for you in the cabin, or does it go in the hold?
Is it a way for them to speed up boarding or free up overhead storage? That sounds much cheaper than paying for a hold bag - just take a roller and a rucksack and job done?
goes in the hold like normal hold luggage with special hands Free tags but it must comply with the normal cabin luggage size. I think it both helps with the sped of boarding and frees up overhead space.Suited me fine and talking to work mates they think it is a good idea to.
I had suitcase that was just with their limits and a 25 litre backpack with my camera,iPad and other bits and pieces as a carry on.
Easyjet don't have a carryon weight limit ,didn't notice the weight going out but I was just short of 13kilos due to the wine and beer in my bag on the return.
