Hi, we are doing so very early travel thinking for late June/early July (2016).
We like to stay in apartments and travel slow, so we tend to use a single city as a hub for five days to a week at a time. We have enjoyed Paris, Rome, and Florence this way and wouldn't mind going back. We've been to London quite recently, and probably don't want to do that again this coming trip. But we really would like to see Venice and Amsterdam. Would these be good hubs for this kind of travel? Where else could we logically use for two or three other hubs on such a trip? Can we make the connections scenic?
One possibility is Venice, Vienna, Amsterdam, Paris.
Another is Venice, Vienna, Amsterdam, Edinburgh
Stay in the country and drive in Tuscany, then Venice, Amsterdam, Paris.
We like museums (art and history), architecture (cathedrals and castles), ruins, food, and days exploring small towns. We like to train and bus it rather than drive.
