Dry shampoo?

Is dry shampoo (http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P261133&categoryId=C7240 in case you're not familiar) widely available in western/central Europe? My hair tends to get oily pretty quickly, so I sometimes use this on busy/lengthy travel days. I don't think you can bring aerosol sprays with you when flying, so I'm wondering if I can just buy it there. We're going to Amsterdam, Brussels, Budapest, Prague, Berlin, and Munich.

I read on TSA that you can bring Aerosol spray bottles and cans in carryon if Less than 3 oz. So if you can bring it in carryon I'd bet you can bring it in checked luggage too.¶ Aerosol (any except for personal care or toiletries in limited quantities) ¶ Carry-on No¶ Checked No¶ What You Can Now Carry Onto a US Commerical Planes ¶ Makeup & Personal Items ¶ Aerosol spray bottles and cans. Less than 3 oz.

My suggestion would be to email Sephora and as them if the product is available in the countries you're visiting, and if it is, where you can get i.

Hi Anna. I'm assuming that dry shampoo is a powder - if it is, you can bring it in carry-on luggage and I don't believe it has a size limit.

Tresamme sells a dry shampoo for about $4 a bottle at Target, Walmart, etc. Its usually just eaiser and cheaper to buy a real bottle of shampoo where youre going and just wash it instead! The powders tend to make it a bit flat and gunky feeling.

Well, I know you can buy regular shampoo there, but I think the idea is that you use dry shampoo when you don't have time to wash/dry/style it :) Thanks for the suggestions, everyone, I'll poke around to see if it can be brought on a plane.

And Haarlem is a great tourist destination! I did a walking tour this summer. It was lovely little courtyard gardens. It was very different than Amsterdam, but very Dutch. BTW I saw a great T-shirt when I was there. "For a Final Touch, God Created the Dutch." ; ) Pam

Great t-shirt Pam! As to the dry shampoo, I just don't think this would work very well for me. I would rather put on a hat, tie my hair back, or just go ahead and wash it and go out with it still damp. I have been known to wash my hair at night to save time, as it will be almost dry by morning.

You can actually carry up to 3.4oz (individual containers) of liquids, aerosols, creams, gels, and lotions (according to the TSA website). The Big Sexy Hair Dry Shampoo is exactly 3.4 oz in an aerosol. I use that ALL the time. It's a bit pricey ($14, I think at Ulta), but it volumizes and doesn't leave any residue in my hair (dark red). I use it almost every day [INVALID] for touch ups and extra volume [INVALID] and it lasts me about a month. I would highly recommend buying it here in the states rather than try to find it in Europe.

Nice - thanks, Julie! I'll try to find it! And Jo, believe me, with the bottom-of-the-barrel hair genes that I unfortunately inherited, washing before bed or not drying results in gross limp noodles on my head. Call me vain, but it won't do. Might look into a hat though.

I was in Walmart today and in the hair salon they had the 3.4 ounce bottle of the big sexy dry shampoo.. It was 16.00 there. So if you don't have an Ulta check out walmart salon.
