Dry Cereal or Popcorn in a Carry-On

I am traveling to Paris later this month, and I am wondering if I am allowed to bring dry cereal or pre-popped popcorn in my carry-on to snack on. I get very bad headaches from certain food additives, so I would like to bring a snack I know is safe! I know I can buy snacks at the airport after security, but they may not keep me headache free! Thanks! any help is appreciated!

Yes you'll be fine. Liquids and sharp objects are what they are concerned about. It's a lot cheaper (and often more yummy) to bring your own food on the plane.

As long as its not liquids, they don't care. I always bring on fresh pastries and sandwiches when I fly back from Europe and no one cares.

Can't remember the last time I ate an airline meal, I always bring my own food. But, I always try to be courteous to those around me by not bringing anything with a strong odor...or, rustling around chip/snack bags when people are sleeping.

Like others have said, no issues with foods - only liquids. I've even brought a cake once!

As the others say, take what you want to eat. I always stuff my carry-on with snacks. Trail mix is popular with travelers, but I have seen sandwiches and fruit.

Never a problem if you have no liquids. Buy your drinks after you pass security.

Pete--was it chocolate and will you share if I sit next to you? ;-)

I packed protein bars for the flight and in case I woke up hungry at 2am in the hotel. Avoid anything that's 'liquidy' such as yogurt or jelly. Dry cereal and popcorn will work great!

Oh boy! Cheese! Cake! (heck lets do cheesecake too!) Cereal! Granola Bars! Wow I could have a whole feast if I wanted too! Haha, just kidding, but I'm very happy to hear that you can bring so many things onto a flight! Thanks for your posts, very helpful!!
p.s. I'm leaving on Monday!!!

Took a baggy of shelled boiled shrimp with me on my last Trans-At - premixed with cocktail sauce, of course.

Wasn't long till I had both seats to myself! ;)

I am kidding of course, but what's the weirdest food your seatmate ever dug out of his carry-on, that like , made you wanna puke?
