Driving Munich to Paris - Looking for a Route

We are considering doing European Delivery on new car and are considering buying in Munich and dropping off in Paris. Really appreciate any suggestions on a route to take. We expect to have 17 days and want to try to go to places that having a car is a real advantage.
Thanks

Well I can definitely tell you that neither Munich nor Paris are great places for cars. In fact if I were to purchase and take delivery of a European Sports Car I would want to be in the country side as far from other cars as possible!

Here's some suggestions for areas I know well. Off of A6, stop off at Schwäbische Hall for at least an hour or two. Continuing west on A6, around Heilbronn, take B27 along the Neckar river valley towards Heidelberg. Stop off to check out Bad Wimpfen and any of the other towns and castles that pique your interest along the way. I would recommend staying the night in either Heidelberg or the castle hotel in Hirschhorn. If its a clear day, consider leaving the road at Neckargerach, and follow the signs to Katzenbuckel. This is the highest point in the region, and from the tower on top, you will have an amazing view of the Odenwald mountains. In addition to checking out Heidelberg, if you have a few more days, check out the towns of Michelstadt, Lindenfels, and Erbach deep within the Odenwald region. On the opposite side of the Rhine, check out the Deutsch Weinstraße (German Wine Road). Towns worth visiting include Bad Dürkheim, Neustadt an der Weinstraße, and Landau in der Pfalz. A little further to the west into the Pfazlerwald mountain, there's some interesting castles around Annweiler am Trifels.

Tom's advice is great. A lot of Alsace-Lorraine is best explored by car, so I'd head up to Nancy, drive the countryside in Lorraine to see Joan of Arc's birthplace, then work your way south and do the Alsactian wine route before heading over to Paris as well.

I agree with the other suggestions. Another possible route is through the Alps if you want some fun, switch-back driving, plus French countryside. Head south to Innsbruck, then west along the E60. Stop in Lech or another cute Alps town, then over to Lucerne or Zurich for a few nights. The road from Lucerne to Interlaken is in our top 5 nail-biter mountain passes. From there you could head through some really cute Alsace towns, Riquewihr, Strasbourg, etc. then west on the highway to Paris. OR from Lucerne or Zurich you can west to Basel, Dijon, then up to Paris. You have 17 days, which is more than enough time to spend a few days in each town and have a relaxing drive. Have fun!
