Why don't you take the train? It is about an hour with a couple of changes and several departures every hour.
Returning to Zurich Hbf, there is a departure every half hour and it takes exactly an hour and they go until nearly 11 pm.

because I am travelling with my parents who are 88 and 94, with some elderly mobility problems and I dont know how to get from the train station to where the soccer match is, I thought it would be easier to hire a driver and a car for a day. Yes the remainder of the week we are using trains to larger towns. I was concerned re the transfers and they cant walk for more than a few blocks. door to door is best option for them

Just by the way, to help with planning, the sportplatz is about 350 metres - about 5 minutes - flat walk through the village from the station.

It may be tough to find a 7 seater, especially if you have luggage, or will you drop the luggage before heading to the match.

Will your parents stand for the match? I don't see a lot of seats. There is a small bunker acting as a clubhouse but it has tiny windows. Outside there is one picnic table.

Are you going to see a relative play?

Could they help with the very short walk to the field and maybe a couple of portable chairs?

There is a Neunkirchen near Luzern. You do mean Neunkirch near Schaffhausen, the one with the woman's FC, right?

the one near schaufhaussen, on the german border, my parents could sit on ground if need be, we can help them up. We will drop the luggage off in Zurich, there will be 5 or 6 of us. I think the 350 meter walk is much for them, if necessary I could put them in a car and we can use public transport from zurich, as we are very fit, do many sports and much hiking, I suspect my parents were once in pretty good shape to get them to this age, but I dont want to stres them so early in the trip. Any car and driver suggestions? should Ijust rent a van for the day? Our relative is on the Lugano team, so they are travelling by bus there.

Neunkirch is a tiny hamlet, Schaffhausen is only about 5 miles away. You'll have a better chance of getting a cab there and he/she can take you right to the soccer pitch and at the same time arrange for the driver to come back and get you at a certain time or exchange cell-phone numbers when you need them (or another driver) to go back to Schaffhausen for an easy train ride to Zurich.
