Good information. Thanks. I'm hoping to carry a Swiss Army Knife again, instead of buying a new one every trip.

Great, now my trip will be ruined without my bayonet or Ka-Bar. Okay, guess the movie: "I'm pretty sure that's illegal too." "Yeah, maybe after 9/11, where everybody got so sensitive. Thanks a lot, bin Laden."

I have found the lack of a swiss army knife to be of minimal loss. Much less than I thought it would be when the ban first went into place. Instead I carry: -P38 can opener (actually works much better than the swiss army version) - key chain Bottle opener (of which I have multiple from my college days) - Acetal knife (it is a type of strong plastic) handles all of my slicing deli meat, spreading peanut butter type needs - nail clippers (i carried them before, now I occasionally use them for things other than just nails)
-tweasers - better than the ones in the knife anyway Between those items I can do everything I ever used the swiss army knife before other than as a bottle opener. And I have yet to have a problem asking the front desk to borrow one when I needed on.
