Does RS Carry-on luggage work for business travel?

Hi! There can be no doubt how well the design of the RS carryon luggage will work for vacation and fun travel. That is obvious. Can anyone tell me if, or how well, it works for business travel? Any thoughts on the large single space "closet design" compared to something like an Air Boss or a Tri Zip bag? How useful are backpack straps on business travel?

I mean needing to carry dress clothes, jacket, etc? And sometimes sleeping in a different city every night?

RedOxx bags look they would be great - but are a bit expensive. Perhaps their garment bag would be good for you. Otherwise - I dont think it makes any difference if your traveling for fun or work! Use a folding pack from eagle creek for your shirts if they are not wrinle free.

I think I agree. I've seen the Air Boss and it's a nice bag, but you can get a whole set of Rick Steves stuff for the same price or less.

But I do hope you receive some feedback on your question, I would also like to hear thoughts on how well the newer Rick Steves carryon bag will hold up.

I have used mine for business travel when my Vitronox was in for repair. It worked great with two exceptions

  1. There is no "suit carrier" in it so if you use that to travel with suits then you might miss it (This is the part that zips usually into the lid and folds up with your suitcase)

  2. When I strap my laptop case on the thing it tips over

That said, I think it's probably the best made piece of luggage I have owned. Great pockets, great zippers etc...

You might check out the new MEI Executive Overnighter. It resembles a cross between the Air Boss and the Tri-Zip. It comes with a fold out "suiter", has 3 full length compartments, a shoulder strap and hideaway back pack straps and waistbelt. All that, with MEI's quality, all for a lot less then either the Air Boss or the Tri Zip.
