PayPal has an app that says you can use in Europe. How convenient is it and is it cost effective? We are traveling from US. I didn't see this option under money tips.

The app will work anywhere in the world, the real issue is whether there are merchants who accept it. In Europe I've come across a lot of online business who accept paypal, but haven't come across any brick/mortatr stores that accept like Dollar General does.

Are you wanting to pay someone for lodging? I've used it for that and it works just fine. I use it all the time here in the states to pay for all kinds of things...

I just used PayPal to pay for train tickets. It gave me the price in local currency as well as what I will be "charged" in U.S. dollars.
I'm in London. No hassles.

I bought train tickets online using PayPal, it was easy. I have never used it in person, though.
