I will be traveling in June to Paris, Rome, Florence, CT and Barecelona...I am diabetic and use both oral and injected medicine. What is protocal with this. I am confident eberything must be labeled with my perscription but will I encounter any problems with syringes, etc. I also must keep some things controlled temp. I have a gel pack that will hold my insulin and am just concerned for the long flight (9 hours)plus time to get to hotel. Do airlines offer a refrigerated option for those supplies.
Here's the TSA's webpage on traveling with medical problems. You shouldn't have any trouble as long as you declare everything:
http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/specialneeds/index.shtm
You may want to ask this question at the American Diabetes Associations own bulletin board:
http://community.diabetes.org/n/forumIndex.aspx?webtag=adaindex
You may also want to get a copy of "The Diabetes Travel Guide" by Davida F. Kruger (2nd Edition). It's available on Amazon.
Thank you. I will check out your suggestions.
