I am supposed to leave for Amsterdam April 14 if my tour company doesn't cancel (don't get me started on that issue - I wish I had booked this trip through RS like I was originally going to ). Maybe I will luck out and the travel ban for the Europeans will be over by April 13. My flight is Delta non stop from Tampa to Amsterdam. If this ban is still in place, I will assume that all of the airlines returning from the specified countries will have to go through these 13 airports. So will Delta reschedule my return flight to go through Atlanta then connect to Tampa or do I have to do it?
This is from the press release:
"To minimize disruptions to travelers, TSA, CBP, and air carriers are working to identify qualifying passengers before their scheduled flights. These passengers will be rerouted to one of the 13 airports by their airline at no cost to them.”
It sounds like the airline will contact you if necessary but it probably wouldn't hurt to get in touch with them if you don't hear anything.
My flights home from Turkey (I’m there now) got scrambled. My flights were on Air France (close partner of Delta). AirFrance just started gutting their schedule a few days ago, our long flight home (CDG-SEA) was a casualty. They canceled that flight and rerouted us through AMS on Delta. I tried to switch to a Delta nonstop (CDG-SEA) but that appears to be canceled, too. All airlines, including Delta, are in the midst of major flight reductions. Air France/Delta did rebook us within 24 hours, so they seem fairly proactive, but anyone venturing overseas now should track their return flights carefully and don’t take them for granted. Things are changing rapidly with major developments coming out of left field, so stay watchful. Good luck with your trip.
So it’s:
Fill out a medical history
Give our contact information, which they already have
Answer a few questions
Be given instructions (brochure)
Be asked to voluntarily self-isolate
Bets---basically that's it. Not sure if you fill out a form regarding health history of just get asked. This will add more lines to stand in.
Going through On Monday. Will report back.
