We are planning to drive from Madrid to Sevilla. Can we stop over for a half a day in Cordoba and then go on to Sevilla in the same day. Also, if we don't drive is there a train we can get on and off of from Cordoba to Sevilla

There are frequent trains from Madrdi to Cordoba, more than hourly. The journey takes 1 hour 45 minutes onnthe AVe fast train, a little longer on others. From Cordoba to Sevilla there are again frequent trains, and this journey only tales 45 minutes. Depending on when you are going, you may be able to get Web fare tickets at a good discount. You can see the schedules and fares on RENFe, the Spanish train website. Go tp " purchase" to see the actual fares available for you day of travel, up to 62 days ahead.

If you choose to drive, Madrid to Sevilla is a long day with all of the road work happening. You would be best to stop in Cordoba for the night and then drive to Sevilla the next day (about an hour or so away). If you leave Madrid early and have only a brief stay it is doable but it will be a long, tiring day.
