Delta-Alitalia connection -JFK

Hi-Thru Delta I have booked a trip starting with a domestic Delta flight to JFK then switching to Alitalia to Rome -with a 1hr 17 min layover -is this enough time? Thanks

Is it on two separate tickets? Bumping so you'll get a response from someone who knows that airport better than I do.

It has to be thru ticket. Delta code shares with Alitalia. You will be fine with the typical caution - if the first plane is on time but Delta will be responsible for taking care of you. You should just walk to the next gate. Do a flight check today and see what gates are being used. Probably not the same for your flight but close.

Its likely that the delta flight lands in a different terminal from the Alitalia. This seems standard at JFK - the domestic terminals are separate from the international. So if this is the case, you need to leave the delta terminal, get on the airtrain for a very short hop to the international terminal then go through security again.

1hr17 minutes is legal, that is they say it is enough time. I am cautious and would want more time because of a possible long wait going through security at JFK. I just booked a similar flight and chose 4 hours (ugh) over 1 hour (too close for my comfort).
