Does anyone have experience with the weather in December in Israel (Jerusalem & Tel Aviv) and Greece? Any info appreciated. Thanks!
Alison, just google for weather averages. I haven't been to Isreal, but have been to Greece in early October. It was lovely , but on the decline. Meaning its going to be cooler and wetter in Greece in December. Also if thinking of visting the islands, many places close for winter.
Hi Allison. Israel is usually pretty sunny and mild in December. Tel Aviv is warmer, you may need a light jacket in the evenings. In Jerusalem you would probably need a light coat. It rains occasionally, but it is rare to have more than a couple of hours of rain in a day, or more than a day or two with rain in a week. Jerusalem pavements can be slippery in the wet, so you will need shoes with good traction. If you send me a PM with your email address, I'll be happy to send you a personal (non-commercial) guide to Israel that a friend of mine has written (in pdf).
Hello Allison. At Greece, the weather is pleasant in the months April and October. In December the weather is cold and wet. I would not go to an island of Greece in December. In December, Delphi (north of Athens) can have light snow, causing the path on a hill to be slippery (dangerous). At Athens in December, you could go in the National Archaeological Museum, and the Benaki museum, and the museum of Greek Folk Art, and the Athens Acropolis Museum (it is not on top of the Acropolis).
