My parents, brother, and I (all adults) will be spending nice days in Nice in a rented apartment towards the middle of June We will also have a car. We would like suggestions for day trips perhpas into Italy. Thank you.

Eze!! A wonderful medieval village on the coast east of Nice. Also, drive up into the hills of provence, perhaps to St. Paul de Vence.

Monaco has a lot to offer as a day trip. You can go to the Jardin Exotique (exotic gardens) and nearby Observatory Cave. You can also visit the palace for the changing of the guard. The cathedral is a few blocks away. There is also the Oceanographic Museum which is associated with Jacques Cousteau. Leave you car in Nice. Everything is walking distance from the train station and there are many public elevators (to get you up the hill) throughout the town. Oh, and there's always the casino, if that's your thing.

From Nice, I enjoyed day trips to Cap Ferrat, Villefranche, Eze, La Turbie, and Monaco. I found Rick's Provence and the Riviera book very helpful.
