Hello all! So in a couple weeks i leave for Europe for a little over a month. I'm trying to hit as many spots as possible even if for only a little bit of time, so while traveling from Paris to Amsterdam i'm stoping for about 7 hours in Bruges, and i plan on doing the same thing from Prague to Salzburg (staying in Vienna for a half day). I was curious what anyone's thoughts or experiences were on carrying your travel bag while sightseeing? I will be carrying a backpack and i'm going to try and pack light as much as possible, but is it difficult going to museums and the like if you're dealing with a larger travel bag? Will certain museums have lockers or will i just be lugging it around the entire time? Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thanks!!
Look up each train station Brugge and Vienna online before you go; some have storage lockers for that purpose. I have done something similar
Vienna is quite out of the way for a Prague to Salzburg journey. Why would you do that?
I see that train travel time via Vienna is 7 hours, versus a more typical connection in Linz with travel time under 6 hours. But if you only have a "half-day" to see a place, I'd choose a smaller place than Vienna. You could also take a direct train or bus from Prague to Cesky Krumlov (bag storage at the Tourist Info office) and perhaps a private shuttle van from there to Linz or Salzburg (to save extra train connections on that leg).
