Looking for a day pack on the smaller side that would be able to carry iPad and space for book, small camera, etc... Any recommendations? Thanks!

Diana, Would one of These cases work for you, perhaps the Pro Style Satchel? I've found this brand to be excellent quality! You could also have a look at This Line of products, also excellent quality. My Pacsafe metro 200 shoulder bag has a pocket that fits my ipad perfectly, while having enough room for my phone, nook, point and shoot camera, etc.

On our recent RS Scotland tour, I carried my iPad in a padded sleeve in a Magellan's Daytripper back pack. This worked very well for me. Pack is very light weight. It can fit water bottle, small camera, and even tightly rolled rain parka. It is more compact than many day packs, which is a feature that appealed to me.
