Dalmation coast or San Sebstian/Rioja?

Help! we have the very fortunate conundrum of not being able t decide where to travel this fall: Spain (north of Barcelona, through Rioja wine country, Bilboa to San Sebastian) in mid September (20-29). OR to Croatia (from Zagreb down the coast to Dubrovnik) mid-October 19-29. Any recos on the best trip considering dates, rainy seasons, etc? Any hep is much appreciated!

Lisa, It would be a good idea to delete your two duplicate Threads on this topic, so that you keep all replies in the same place. I don't have any suggestions to offer on your questions, but I'm sure one of the others will be able to help. Cheers!
