I mailed my renewal June 27, paid $130 for regular processing with 1-2 day delivery 18.50 and received my passport August 9.

My passport renewal took the same 5 weeks as yours this summer. I didn’t pay extra for fast delivery. Coincidentally the old passport arrived the same day in the mail.

And now the Online Renewal Test phase is going on. Hopefully it becomes the norm after the test phase and is a smoother process.
