Cruising the Med in October

Taking a cruise the second week in October on RCCL which cruises the Mediterranean Sea. Leaves Barcelona then goes to Naples, Rome, Florence, Nice, and Provence. Need suggestions as to what to bring for clothing.

Have you checked elsewhere on this web site about the weather in Italy in October?
If you have not, click on "Tours", then "Italy", then "South of Italy", or another one if it better lists the cities you will be visiting. Along the right had side should be a listing for "Weather in Europe" - click on it! At least that will give you some ideas.

It is very unpredictable. About the same as predicting rain for Wilmington during the second week. The probability should be good weather but you could be unlucky. Last year we were in the Med in early Oct for a couple weeks and basically stayed in a high pressure bubble the entire time as we moved from west to east. As we watched the daily weather it appeared that we were between two big storm patterns. A few days after the cruise end we met a couple who had been on a sister ship one week ahead of us and had the worse cruise of their lives because of constant rain.

As for clothing you need to be prepared for a wide range of weather from cool and rainy to hot and sunny. A light sweater, good rain jacket, etc. is always in our luggage.

Cruised the Eastern Med a few years ago in October and it was comfortably warm. Had been in French Riviera and Cinque Terre prior to that and much the same. I am afraid I do not kow where Wilmington is, so cannot compare with wahat we experienced.
