We are taking a 13 day cruise through the British Isles with additional stops in Le Havre, Bruges and Amsterdam. I was wondering if any of the Rick Steves' books would be helpful as we only have a day in each of our stops. Also, can anyone recommend a good tour to Normandy? We are probably going to skip trying to see Paris on one day and go to Normandy. Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, Joanne. I think Rick's books do an excellent job of covering the sites in the cities and towns he covers. The only negative is that he doesn't cover every place in every country. So you need to look at the contents of his books to see if they include the stops on your tour. If they do, I would buy them.
I am hoping to go to Normandy this September, and I have been reading everything on this site about Normandy. I can tell you that everyone raves about the Battlebus Tours. I've read good things about other tours as well, but I am sold on Battlebus based on the incredible number of people who recommend them.
