Crocs that actually look like shoes that I can wear to Europe

I just bought a new pair of Crocs - Saffron model, black mary-jane style with genuine leather uppers, adjustable velcro strap and the super-comfortable footbed that Crocs are known. Now I can put the "ugly" style away to wear in the garden.

They cost me $49.99 at my local garden store but were made to be worn in restaurants and other workplaces, i.e., with non-slip soles. I am constantly on the hunt for comfortable shoes that can be worn on cobblestones, in the museums, then I can wear them to dinner at night. I think that I have finally found them - woo hoo!!! Spain here I come - four more months!

Debbie, that sounds like what I've been looking for. I want a pair of Mary Janes or a sandal, but do love my Croc versions for when I want out of runners.

Is your local garden store an independent or a chain?

Just google "Crocs Saffron" - I think that Taylor Shoes.com has them. My garden store is an independent one, not a chain, I went in for shamrocks and came out with these. The cashier did say that they had just come in - they had white ones as well, which I may have go back and buy.

I wore my ugly, but comfortable, Crocs to Austria, Germany and Italy last fall. I was suprised to find a Crocs store in Salzburg and an old Italian man wearing two different colors of Crocs on his feet in the CT!

They are the most comfortable shoes I own, so I wanted to make sure I took them on my trip. But, after walking all day long I found that my heels were really sore. It took a week for them to heal and I didn't wear them again. So, my only suggestion is to have a back up shoe. I'm glad I did, although it was very unexpected because at home they are great.

Have a great trip!

I think that is very good advice,, bring a back up shoe.

Many shoes or types of footwear can be comfortable for short term wear,, but when worn for 10 mile walking days, they are not so comfy anymore. Good arch support, extra padding etc, are so important. My slippers are super comfy,, but I wouldn't wlak ten miles in them.

That said we saw a Croc store in Hawaii, all they sold were crocs, and we were amazed at all the new styles,, some were positively attractive!!Definately not just for the garden anymore!

Crocs are sort of common here in Italy. Of course Italians wear them as daytime around the house shoes, but I have seen them around town and even in a chruch.

I am so surprised they are such a big hit nation and world wide!!! Crocs factory is about 5 minutes from my house and no one wears them in Boulder anymore, but I saw a crocs shop in London for crying out loud... I would like to try the mary janes though, as thats my fav style!!! They have a shop here also in Boulder, that sells them online for a good price. http://www.comfortableshoes.com/shoes/All-Genders/Crocs/
