Croatia or Greece with teens

Hello there! Please help to decide. We planning two families to visit Croatia or Greece this summer, but cannot decide which one.
In Greece we would stay at Crete and visit one day Santorini.
We love beach, water activities, hiking, charming towns and great food.
Croatia plan would be :Split, Trogir, Makarska, Brella , Dubrovnik. Also rent a boat for a day.
We going back and forth. Please help!

My order of preference woukd be

Montenegro
Albania
Croatia
Crete/Santorini

Makarska and Brella are brilliant ideas unless you say its a 10 day, or less trip, then I put it last. But with more than 10 days Makarska and Brella push Croatia to third place. Of the 4, I suspect it will be the most expensive or I would put it 2nd with 10 or more days. If it were just adults I would tend to put Crete First.

Been to both countries more than once.
We don't travel to Europe to go to the beach. We are pushing 80 and don't go for skin cancer. Also, we live near the beach in the USA.
We go for history, art, culture and cuisine.
Greece has the edge on most of those.
One option is to take a cruise that included both countries.
Love Split, Trogir, Dubrovnik as well as Crete, Santorini, Mykonos, Delos, Athens, Corinth, Delphi and more.

I'm sure you know you're running out of time to make major plans for two families for this summer, which is high season.
One plan has you in one place while the other moves around quite a bit. So how much time do you have in total and do you want to go for immersion and relaxation or for quick hops?
At this point, you may have your decision made by availability options; Crete and Santorini may be easier to source and book. I would also encourage you to spend a couple of nights in Santorini, which is magical at night and dawn without the daytrippers!
Happy to help.
