I have been reading and studying a lot but seem no closer to choosing a non-FTF credit and debit card.
FTF = Foreign Transaction Fee
Can anyone simplify the thought process for me?

CApOne can get you a non-FTF credit card, various cards with different rewards programs.. They cab also get you a bank account with a non-FTF and no-AtM fee debit/POS card. Have never had a problem with CapOne's toll-free service. Not sure about Chase.
Do you belong to any airline or hotel award programs? Many have no FTF credit card partners. You can then see if the issuing bank (e.g. Chase) has a no FTF debit card where you can stash your travel cash.
We have a Citibank card connected with our Costco executive membership and are there are no FTF’s. And we get cash back with that one. Our Chase Slate card charges FTF’s.
We have been very happy with our Chase cards, the rewards programs, customer service, and no foreign transaction fees.
The debit card that is best for travel is Charles Schwab.
I use my bank debit card.... no FTF and great service

Knowing what bank that is would help OP in her search.
