Credit card used for room booking is blocked

I had done online hotel bookings using my credit card for my upcoming Europe tour in June. Couple of hotels had just taken my credit card information without charging any amount to my card, while one hotel charged entire amount to my credit card.

Here comes the problem - I have misplaced my credit card today, and immediately got it blocked. The credit card company will be issuing new card within a week. Will this affect any of my hotel bookings made. What steps I need to take so that this episode will not have any negative impact ?

I would contact the hotels and let them know what happened.

Once I had a similar situation with a hacked credit card. A few days before arrival the hotel mailed me they couldn't charge my card. I gave them the details of the new card. You can wait until a hotel contacts you, or inform them yourself.

It's okay to pay with a different card, but you might contact the hotel(s) to let them know that.

As soon as you get your new card, contact the hotels and give them the new CC info. Since you're not leaving until June, I wouldn't think there's any rush. I don't imagine that a hotel checks the validity of a card on a regular basis. I assume they either do it at the time you reserve and/or just before the reserved date.

If you have used this card to book other travel things (tickets, tours, etc) bring it with you. Some providers require you to show the card. Doesn't matter that it's no longer usable they still want to see it.
