I'm looking for an Internet site where I can download detailed street maps of some of the towns (i.e. Stow, Moreton, Bourton, Broadway, Chipping Camden). In lieu of that, any suggestions where I might purchase these maps? Thanks!
Most of the local news shops have detailed maps of the local area.
I can only speak to Chipping Campden, but we got a map for 50p at the tourist info office in the city. it had walking tours to follow, etc. But it's a pretty small town. OK a very small town :)
Lynn,
If you're interested in simple maps of the town centres, I usually photocopy and enlarge those in the England Guidebook. I find them quite adequate for getting around.
If you want more detailed maps that include the surrounding countryside, the T.I. should be able to supply something.
Cheers!
Agree with what everyone else said. The local TI's are great. Many of the towns are pretty small too.
What are TI's please?
TIs are Tourist Information offices. They are everywhere - the airports, train stations, and in virtually every town. They are a wealth of help and information. (You really should invest in a good guidebook or two to learn some basics.)
