Rather than flying, I'm thinking of taking the ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo. I have plenty of time and I've never taken the ferry.
The reviews are mixed. Anyone who has taken it, I'd like to hear your experiences, suggestions, etc.

We took a one hour flight from Copenhagen to Oslo for something like $100. It was well worth it, and we were able to get on the Norway in a Nutshell tour faster.
FrankII, We took this ferry about 5 or 6 years ago. Because we tend to travel less expensively, we took an inside cabin and ate dinner at a cafe or bar, not one of the book-in-advance restaurants. The cabin was super clean, we slept well, the trip was without incident, and we could walk to our Oslo hotel from the dock. Because the cabin price was about the same as a hotel room, I looked at it as saving the cost of transportation between the cities. Bottom line, I recommend it. Have a great trip.
The ferry can be quite pleasant. it does have a reputation as a but of a booze Cruise, but I guess that depends on weather there is a lively bachelor party or the like onboard or not. When I did the trip a few years back it was very laid back. The restaurants onboard are decent, but nothing special and perhaps a bit on the expensive side.
The views are at the beginning and the end of the trip. From Copenhagen you sail up trough the Øresund straight, were you can see Kronborg Castle on the left side when you pass Helsingør. In the morning you have a couple of hours going trough the Oslo Fjord. While it is not as inpressive as Norways western Fjords, it is still a pretty sight.
I took the ferry quite a few years ago. The food on board was good and my inside cabin was small but comfortable. The scenery was gorgeous, especially the first few hours or so leaving Copenhagen and the arrival into Oslo. A flight is a flight, the ferry was an experience.
It's a long ride between the two and I believe the ferry costs quite a bit more than a plane. If you have time for it, there are at least two companies. As I recall one is more party oriented and the other is more like a hotel. I was glad to enter Stockholm by sea because the archipelago is worth seeing.
Brad you are thinking of the Stockholm-Helsinki ferry.
Morten, just an aside that the boat out of Stockholm is the one I'd really try to see. Personally, other than that I'd fly between the capitols.
I took the ferry. I think arriving in Oslo by sea would be just as good if not better than arriving in Stockholm by sea. My room was large and comfortable (no windows). I enjoyed playing a trivia game in one of the lounges. We had a team of Americans and there was a Norwegian team and a Danish team. Lots of good fun especially noticing which team got which questions right.
I had a meal in the Italian place, not so good. Breakfast buffet had a lot of options.
It was great sitting on deck coming into Oslo.
If you are not in a hurry it will be a much better experience than flying.
