Robespierre was very helpful to me in the past, and I was shocked to hear of his passing.

There were many lamenting posts on the Frommers board when Robespierre died.
I can well imagine, though we never really realise how "close" we can become with people online.
I do remember how wonderful folks were to me when my sister passed away in December 2008 in Heidelberg.
My husband has never been involved with an online community, so he cannot understand how you can "feel" for someone going through rough times. He'd always say, "but hon, you DON'T know that person in real life!"
Thank you for posting this, Eli! I hope someone posted on Fodors, too.
Robespierre was certainly a most wonderful techie advisor on Fodors, the virtual world where I knew him.
It doesn't have to be just the virtual world for "knowing" people, though we really don't, I know.
I grieved when Jim Henson died, felt like a favorite uncle was gone. I rarely saw his face, but I born at the right time to have heard his voice all my life!
