"Internet cafes are everywhere in Europe these days"

True a few years ago, not so true these days. As more and more Germans become connected to the Internet at home, Internet cafes are vanishing. If you stay in tourist areas, you can probably still find them, but you will have to hunt. Last Fall I encountered several Wifi "Cafes" (no terminal but Wifi connection).

Another option- many hotels offer complimentary internet use on a public computer.

Internet cafes are everywhere in Europe these days, and many also sell phone cards, have phone booths available, etc, etc. Communications will not be a problem...

You can also easily buy phone cards at any convenience store.

Or, in hotel Wifi.
