We are leaving for Frankfurt, Munich, and the Czech Rep. May 5. What are the most comfortable clothes to take? Am planning short sleeves, long sleeves, golf shirts, a sweater and jacket. Are short sleeves okay to take? Husband thinks we should wear only long sleeved items.
Not sure what you mean by "are short sleeves acceptable?"
The weather here changes daily. Over Easter it was up to 80, today it is cooler. One year we had snow flurries on 31 May and a week later it was hot. Go figure. It is probably similar to Indiana.
Here's what I pack. It gets me from cold to warm. More than likely you will experience some cool weather and maybe some really nice weather. Also be prepared for rain.
Rather than warm items of clothing, bring layers.

Hopefully you can get some ideas.
Rai Ann: Dress like you would in Iowa this time of year, and you'll have it nailed down just about right. Remember that it was 80+ degrees Fahrenheit here last Friday, but it's been pretty chilly since. Expect the same fluctuations for your visit to Germany.
Take a look at the photos of people depicted in the newspapers from those countries. Use Google to find them. How you dress depends on your age, regardless of the country. I try to blend in, so always check what others are wearing then arrange my limited choice of clothes to fit. Basically, dress the way you would at home and be comfortable. Besides, if you plan "perfectly", you won't have a reason to shop, now will you?
Got it. Dress is about the same as here in Iowa this time of year. Dress in layers but don't pack to much so I have to shop. Sounds good to me. Thanks for all info.
