Clothes fabrics

I was wondering what types of fabrics work the best for this kind of traveling. I know that cotton is more breathable, but when I look at clothes on travel sites, they are mostly nylon.

Not sure about the nylon but I like linen as well because it is light and breathes easily in warm weather. I think nylon dries quickly and is good for wear and tear. I'm sure other experts will post as well though.

but does linen not wrinkle badly
I have a shirt and pants that are a cotten linen blend that do not wrinkle that much

I should also mention that I was wondering with regards to summer travel (June/July), if that makes a difference.

My linen skirts I have do wrinkle slightly, but I think they actually look cuter slightly wrinkled. I guess it gives it character but it still looks nice.

Synthetic fabric are best as you can roll them up, cram them in you suitcase and then hang them when you get to your hotel and they generally look OK. Pure cotton is good to wear but tends to need ironing. Synthetics you can rinse or wash at night and hang in the bathroom and can be dry by morning. Personal preference and whether you like to be "creaseless". I tend to take synthetic pants and skirts and cotton mix tops. If the tops are a mix often it's enough to stop it getting too creased and crumpled. At the end of the day it's what you are comfortable in. I've also found in Italy especially you can't get an iron - you need to send you things out to be pressed.
