Cincinnati to Paris to Milan….Where will I go through customs and passport control

Flying Delta and will just be carrying on. Wondering where we will go through customs and passport check and how long it should take if we land in Paris at 6am on a Saturday morning.

Thank you.

Immigration (passport control) will be in Paris, your first entry into the Schengen zone. Shouldn't take very long, but depends on if a lot of planes from outside of Schengen just landed, or not. And, I am not familiar with CDG, but you might have to go back through security to get to your gate to go to Milan.

Theoretically, you don't go through customs until your final destination, but customs is usually a formality anyway.

If the passport check line looks longer than the time you have, show your ticket to staff who may let you into the fast lane. Last time I transferred at CDG, the passport control line took 45 minutes for regular folks, but that was not at 6 a.m. If your flight connection to Milan was booked on the same ticket, then the airline will take care of putting you on a later connection (space available) in case of delays. When you get transfer directions from airport staff, try to avoid the navette/shuttle bus that circumnavigates the airport; it is slow and means leaving the secure area.
