I am planning a trip to Paris and Vienna for Christmas 2011. I am wondering how soon I should be making my reservations. I was going to wait until May or so, but wonder if I should be making them now. When would be a good time?

We are spending December in Italy and I have made all of my reservations. Where we stay is very important to me, so I secure my lodging as soon as I have my flights reserved.

This past Christmas we were in Munich, Prague over Christmas and had no trouble with making reservations at the end of October. I am sure you would be fine if you waited till late spring or early summer.

I, too, like to have my reservations done in advance. I have to make reservations for 8 and I guess I will try to make them this spring.

The earlier you make them the more choices you will have. The prices will not go down if you wait.

Yes, Mary, I think it's time to start reading and figuring out where you'd like to stay. There's a big difference between making reservations for 2 vs 8 people. Enjoy the planning!
