Christmas in Florence, Italy

Christmas in Florence

I'm sorry for making multiple post but this forum seems a bit more active that the "Christmas in Europe" thread, so I'm posting here for feedback from fellow travellers.

I've heard that Christmas in Florence could be quite boring with lots of museum closings, overpriced food at restaurants that elect to stay open. Any thoughts? It is still early I can change to another country but I need to get a good idea of what to expect.

Also if anyone would like to share their experiences with spending Christmas in Europe please feel free to e-mail me. BTY, I am a solo traveller.

I don't know about Florence, but I spent a Christmas in Salzburg, Austria and it was magical.
the German speaking countries have outdoor Christkindmarkts and have wonderful concerts. It was a trip of a life time.
