Christmas in Central Europe 2019

Starting to play around with a Christmas itinerary for next year. Berlin is a must for me. Otherwise, looking for quaint Christmas magic and best chances for snow. Any thoughts on the proposed itinerary? Too aggressive? I always struggle to find the right balance between variety of sights and too much scramble between locations... Maybe eliminate Vienna since that's over Christmas and not much will be open anyway? Such a beautiful city though...

Dec. 15 - arrive in Munich (2.5 days)
18 - train to Salzburg (2.5 days)
21 - train to Halstatt (2.5 days)
24 - train to Vienna (2.5 days)
27 - train to Prague (3.5 days)
31 - train to Berlin (3.5 days)
Jan. 4 - fly home

2.5 days in Hallstatt is about 2.0 days too many.

I would be tempted to drop at least one location, as you are short changing most places, even if things weren’t closed for Christmas and new year. Vienna to Prague then onto Berlin are both journeys of 5+ hours door to door.

Vienna isn’t my favourite city, but that’s just my personal taste. Prague is a rush in 4 full days and Berlin, one of my favourite cities can easily fill 5 full days if not a week.
